Realtek Semiconductor, the world's leading manufacturer of SD card readers, today announced the RTL9211DS, a new generation of USB3.2 Gen2 to SD Express controller, supporting the new SD8.0/SD7.1 protocol.
The RTL9211DS is the only solution in the market that supports the PCIe Active-State Power Management (ASPM) idle power saving protocol to effectively reduce thermal power consumption of SD8.0/SD7.1 cards during operation, providing improved stability and a more reliable storage environment.
Realtek continues to cultivate the high-end storage application market, pursue excellence, provide highly integrated solutions, and continue its leadership as a mainstream supplier in the industry. The RTL9211DS has already been designed-in by several major brand customers, and will be launched in the market with leading manufacturer’s SD8.0/7.1 memory card products.
“Realtek’s RTL9211DS is the world’s first ready for mass production USB3.2 Gen2 to SD8.0/7.1 card reader solution”, said Realtek’s Vice President and Spokesman, Yee-Wei Huang. “Inheriting Realtek's market-leading advantages in the SD card reader market, our new RTL9211DS offers the industry's best compatibility and stability in the latest generation of SD8.0/SD7.1 SD cards, greatly assisting customers to reduce time to market. Realtek continues to innovate with next generation solutions, RTL9221DS with USB3.2 Gen2x2, that enables faster speeds of up to double the speed of the RTL9211DS, and is planned to launch in the second half of this year”.
